Dr. Balakumar Chandrasekaran

Dr. Balakumar Chandrasekaran currently working as a Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy, Zarqa University.

He has a total of 20 years of professional experience covering academia, research, and industrial sectors. His area of specialization is Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Phyochemistry Drug Design, and application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in pharmaceutical research. He has published more than 80 papers, authored 24 book chapters, edited 3 books and 3 Journals.

Dr, Balakumar holds 9 international patents (PCT, South Africa, Australia, and India). Academically, he serves as guest editorial of Elsevier, MDPI, Springer, and Frontiers Publishers. He is a recipient of several research grants including 3 international research projects with King Khalid University-Saudi Arabia, ITM University-India, and De Montfort University, Leicester-UK. His current research focussed to machine learning, deep learning (AI) applications in early prediction of critical diseases like Alzheimer Disease, cancer, and diabetes, and designing novel medicinal compounds to manage such diseases. He was also recognized as Top 2% scientists in the Elsevier & Stanford University Survey for the past couple of years (2024 & 2025).
