PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
Dr. Nawzat D. Al Jbour is PRC-ZU Manager, and Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering and Pharmaceutical Technology at the Zarqa University in Zarqa, Jordan. With a robust academic foundation holding a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from University Malaysia Pahang and both M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees from Jordan University of Science and Technology. Dr. Al Jbour brings over two decades of experience in academia, research, and the pharmaceutical industry.
At PRC-ZU Dr. Nawzat AlJbour is working extensively to collaborate with different industrial sectors in order to improve the corporation between both academia and industry.
At MEU, Dr. Al Jbour has played a pivotal role in shaping pharmacy and cosmetic manufacturing education. She has taught a wide array of undergraduate and graduate courses, ranging from Physical Pharmacy and Drug Delivery to Quality Management and Cosmetic Product Design. Her previous leadership roles at Middle East University include serving as Dean, Vice Dean, Head of Department, and Coordinator of the Cosmetics and Chemical Products Program. She also led the university’s efforts in securing the ACPE Certificate as Logistics Coordinator.
Before transitioning to academia, Dr. Al Jbour held senior positions in the pharmaceutical sector, including Section Head and Acting, Technical Manager at the Jordanian Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Company (JPM), and Study Director at the Pharmaceutical Research Unit (PRU). Her industrial expertise spans drug delivery systems, analytical method development, and innovation management.
Dr. Al Jbour is a prolific researcher with over 20 peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals. Her research interests include nanotechnology, electrospun nanofibers, chitosan-based drug delivery, and cosmetic formulation. She has secured multiple competitive research grants, including projects on colon cancer treatment, phytosterol analysis in olive oil, and wound-healing nanofiber bandages.
She has presented her work at international conferences in Malaysia, Belgium, and Jordan, and contributed a book chapter on biopolymers published by CRC Taylor. Dr. Al Jbour is a member of the Jordanian Engineers Association and has served on numerous university-level committees related to quality assurance, research, and academic assessment.
