Dr. Ashraf Qasem

Dr. Ashraf Qasem is PRC-ZU VP, and assistant Professor in the Faculty of Pharmacy at Zarqa University.

Dr, Ashraf research specializes in drug discovery from natural products, with a focus on exploring promising medicinal plants for their activity against various biological targets.

He earned his Ph.D. in Pharmacology (Natural Products Chemistry) in 2022 from the University of Bath, UK.

Dr. Ashraf’s work involves the isolation and characterization of bioactive compounds using advanced chromatographic techniques, followed by structural elucidation through NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) and mass spectrometry. In addition, he integrates medicinal chemistry approaches to perform chemical modifications of natural molecules and design synthetic analogues to enhance their therapeutic potential.
